Driving a car can give you a sense of freedom, if you are not stuck in jams of course! But you will only be able to drive if once you get a license. However, may of us start getting a panic attack at the mere though of a driving test! If you\’ve taken one and failed or are turning into a nervous wreck at the mere thought of taking one, the following tips may help you:
Visualize clearing your driving test
You may have heard of athletes or sports persons, visualizing winning before an important game or match. They do this because visualization is considered to be powerful technique which prepares the body and mind for peak performance. You can also use this technique to ensure peak performance in your driving test. Start practicing the following technique a week before you are due to take your test:
Step 1- Lie down and sit in a comfortable position
Step 2- Close your eyes and deep breathe
Step 3- Now visualize yourself driving confidently. Feel as if you are in complete control of the car. See yourself smiling confidently as you take the test. Imagine that you are being told, \”congratulations, you have cleared your driving test\”
Step 4- Relax
Step 5- open your eyes
When you visualize something intensely and repeatedly, your body and mind start pushing towards making that visualization come true.
Listen to subliminal messages
Our subconscious directs our so called \”natural behavior\”. Things like saying \”hi!\” when you meet someone or putting your hand forward to shake hands, which you seem to do \”unconsciously\”, are actually behavior patterns which are embedded in the subconscious. When we do something repeatedly, with time it becomes a part of our natural behavior. Subliminal messages can modify our behavior as they have the power to influence our subconscious.
The most commonly used instruments for transmitting subliminal messages are audio cds. Soundtracks in these cds come packaged with subliminal messages. Subliminal messages if used regularly and repeatedly will boost your confidence and help you to develop the belief that you are going to pass and remove the possibility of failure from your mind.
The environment that we grow up in, and the influences we are exposed to as children, have a substantial and lasting impact on our thinking, even if we aren’t aware of it.
The greatest initial source of influence on us is our parents, and any older siblings, as these are generally the people that we spend the most time with as young children.
This usually continues as we grow into teenagers, and adults, with an ever widening range of influence also affecting our thinking. Of course, as we grow and develop as individuals we develop our own opinions and outlook on life.
However, there’s no doubt that, to some degree, the opinions of our family and friends affect our beliefs, our expectations, our opinions, in fact the very way we live our lives. So do countless other external sources, such as education, religion, television, films, books, magazines, newspapers, radio and many more.
It’s hard to say what percentage of our beliefs and values have actually come from our own thoughts and experiences, and how much comes from outside influences that we have accepted as fact without even actively thinking about them. This also varies considerably from person to person, as some people are more readily susceptible to outside influence than others.
Some of our most positive and constructive personal attributes and values develop as a result of external influences, but so can negative character traits and beliefs.
Some people can become so conditioned in their thinking that, although they want success and to make something of their lives, their deeply held beliefs and conditioning can actually sabotage their best efforts.
If, for example, you grew up in an environment where money is always scarce and making ends meet was a constant battle, you can easily come to believe deep down that this is what you can expect in your life.
You may seriously desire much greater success, and even work hard towards it, but at a subconscious level, you can actually hold yourselves back by imposing self limiting beliefs and expectations on yourself, without even being aware of it. It can be almost as if you believe deep down that you don’t deserve to be prosperous and successful.
The media compounds these beliefs. How many books and films are there featuring stereotypes such as ‘poor but honest and hard working folk’ who have been used and abused in some way by the ‘rich and corrupt millionaire”? Everyone loves an underdog and these stories can be very entertaining, but they also tend to reinforce the belief that financial success and sound moral values are mutually exclusive.
But this can also work in the exact opposite way. Many people become successful because they are so determined not to live the way their parents had to live, that this becomes their driving force. They either totally believe they have the right to be successful, or they overcome any conditioned beliefs that could hold them back.
As we grow up and get older, the influence of the family may lessen as we spend more time with other people. The people we choose to associate with can also have a great effect on our lives and our thinking. More often than not, we aren’t even aware just how much influence other people can have.
Do you associate with people who have a positive outlook on life and are trying to make something of themselves and their lives, or are you mixing with negative people with little or no ambitions? I think it was Brian Tracy who said ‘you can’t expect to fly like an eagle if you hang out with turkeys’ or words to that effect.
Could you be spending time with people that could influence you to move forward in the direction of your goals? What other outside influences or conditioned beliefs could be holding you back?
Being aware of, and overcoming any limiting beliefs or influences, can be one of the most important actions we ever take for our success and happiness. And this is not just about financial success; this applies to whatever your idea of success and happiness is.
Possibly the most important belief anyone can develop is to firmly believe that you can do anything that you commit to.
If you genuinely, positively, believe that you can do something, if you are determined and committed, and make the plans and take action, there’s no doubt you can do it.
But it also works in reverse – if you believe you can’t do something, you’re also right.
It really is as simple as that. It starts with knowing exactly what you want, and then having a big enough ‘why’ for wanting it, developing a burning desire to achieve it, and having total belief that you can achieve it.
Then you will find, or develop, the resources and skills needed, make the plans, and take the actions necessary to succeed.
You may well have to overcome conditioned beliefs and external influences, and be prepared to swim against the tide, but it will be more than worth it to.

Kentucky DUI Law: Kentucky uses two theories to find liability in drivers suspected of DUI. The first of these is the per se theory of intoxication. Under the per se rule, any person with a blood alcohol level that exceeds .08% is per se guilty of violating the state’s prohibition against driving while intoxicated. The per se rule is a little tricky, since it does not take into account the state of the driver at the time of the arrest. Proof of per se intoxication is typically obtained through blood or breath testing, although the police may request a urine test if they believe it is the best means of ascertaining the arrestee’s level of intoxication.
New bill would lower high blood-alcohol threshold for aggravated drunk driving in Kentucky. A member of the Kentucky State Senate has introduced legislation that would lower the blood-alcohol level for aggravated drunk driving. Kentucky drunk driving laws establish .08% BAC as the threshold of legal intoxication. Currently a BAC of .18% or higher is considered an aggravated offense subject to additional penalties. Senate Bill 71 would establish .15% BAC as the new threshold for aggravated DUI. Under the legislation, a highly intoxicated first offense driver would be required to spend a minimum of four days in jail. The bill also increases the penalties for drivers caught driving under the influence of drugs. The bill has passed the Senate Judiciary Committee and will soon be introduced to the full Senate of the Kentucky General Assembly.
DUI Penalties in Kentucky: The criminal penalties associated with driving under the influence in Kentucky become more severe with each offense a person accumulates. The look-back period is helpful in determining if an offender will face penalties for a first offense or a subsequent offense. The penalties for a first DUI offense in Kentucky are a $200 to $500 fine, a service fee of $250, 48 hours to 30 days in jail, not less than 48 hours and not more than 30 days of community service if the offender is eligible, driver’s license suspension of 30 to 120 days, and 90 days of alcohol or drug assessment and treatment. An offender is eligible for a restricted work permit after 30 days of a suspension. Second offenses result in harsher penalties including $350-$500 in fines, $200 in service fees, seven days to six months in jail, not less than 10 days and no more than six months of community service, one year of alcohol and drug assessment and treatment, and 12 to 18 months of license suspension. A third DUI offense in Kentucky results in penalties including a fine of $500 to $1,000, 30 days to 12 months in jail, not less than 10 days and no more than 12 months of community service, 24 to 36 months of license revocation, and one year of mandatory alcohol and drug treatment and assessment. A fourth DUI offense is a class D felony in Kentucky. The offender must serve a mandatory 120 days of a jail sentence that may be from one year to five years in length. The offender’s license will be revoked for 60 months and he or she will have to undergo alcohol and drug assessment and treatment for one year.

There are millions of vehicles on road at any instant in the world. It is very important that people who are at the driving wheel be responsible enough to understand that a minor mistake from their end could lead to devastating results. Many a times it happens that the person at the wheel is not sober enough to even stand properly, let alone drive a vehicle. He could be under the influence of drugs, alcohol or any other consciousness impairing substance. The laws concerning these types of offences wherein the person is driving under the influence of such substances are called Dui laws.
The Canadian Dui laws are very strict. If the alcohol content in the driver’s body is above 80 milligrams per 100mls of blood then even if the person’s motor skills are fine, he would still be indicted under DUI laws. There are several ways by which the authorities can test the drug level in the driver’s body. Some of them are complexion flushed face, dilated pupils, stench of an alcoholic beverage, difficulty in walking or standing and slurred speech.
According to the Canada DUI laws if the offense is committed for the first time then the usual penalty is a fine, for second timers the minimum penalty is 14 days in jail, whereas for the third time it is 90 days in jail. The local province has a right to suspend the driving license of the offender.
If at all you face such charges then you take the assistance of a DUI lawyer who can help you throughout the legal procedure. The Dui lawyer would make sure that you get the minimum penalty and in some cases even help you walk away Scott free.
